Welcome in the New Year with a winter warm-up birding together at Kah Tai Lagoon Nature Park. Meet at the main parking area near the caretaker site and bathroom. Focus will be on wintering waterfowl, but trailside avifauna are always welcomed.
Expected species on the water may include Canada Geese, Mallards, American Wigeons, Gadwalls, Lesser Scaups, Teals, Northern Shovelers, Common Goldeneyes, Ring-necked Ducks, Buffleheads, Ruddy Ducks, Hooded Mergansers, American Coots and Pied-billed Grebes. Bundle up for chilly wintertime weather. Bring binoculars and/or a scope if you have one. Excessive winds/steady rains cancel.
Please help keep our birding community safe and look to join on a future outing if you have COVID or COVID-like symptoms and/or known exposure …or other flu-like/illness. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Looking forward to birding together this first month of the New Year! Trip Leader Miranda Maxwell, mlmolympics@hotmail.com.
