Fawn Wagner, the current manager of the Dungeness and Protection Island National Wildlife Refuges, will join us with an update from the field. She serves on behalf of the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, which is currently co-managing the refuges with the US Fish & Wildlife Service. In her words, “Protection Island is an incredibly important place for wildlife and for the broader conservation community, supporting significant seabird colonies and other species while providing critical habitat in the Salish Sea. As co-managers of the Refuge, we are working to strengthen stewardship, monitoring, habitat management, and protection of the island.”
